Capturing Diplomacy and Fun: FunPhoto at SOMA’s High School Model UN Event in Toronto

Where future leaders struck a pose and made memories that last beyond debate

Last week, FunPhoto had the incredible opportunity to be part of something truly inspiring — the Southern Ontario Model United Nations Assembly (SOMA), held at the vibrant Daniels Spectrum event space in Toronto.

This annual event brings together high school students from across Southern Ontario for a weekend of diplomacy, debate, and global thinking. From tackling climate change to simulating crisis situations, these young delegates immersed themselves in the real-world work of the United Nations — and in between sessions, they got to unwind and capture the moment at our interactive photo booth!

Adding to the electric atmosphere were live performances by talented student bands and dance groups who brought the energy and creativity up a notch. Whether it was a soulful song set between committee sessions or a vibrant dance number during the evening socials, these performances added a dynamic cultural layer to an already unforgettable event.

Our team set up a full-featured booth complete with custom UN-themed props, international backdrops, and instant printing, allowing delegates to commemorate their experience with a little bit of flair. Whether it was a group of delegates from “France” and “Japan” striking a pose together or a candid snap of the Security Council after a heated debate, the booth quickly became a hotspot for creativity and connection.

We were thrilled to see how students embraced the spirit of the event — combining serious leadership with plenty of smiles and laughter. At FunPhoto, we believe memories are best made when fun meets purpose, and SOMA 2025 was the perfect example.
